Dr Hamid Zeighamifard is a gentle, caring dentist with a strong focus on helping patients feel relaxed and confident in the dental chair.
Originally from the UK, Hamid graduated from the University of Sheffield, a university recognised worldwide for its academic excellence in dentistry. After more than 20 years living and working in England, he made the move to New Zealand in 2021 to embrace the Kiwi lifestyle and now proudly calls the Hibiscus Coast home.
Hamid believes that great dentistry starts with listening. He takes the time to really get to know his patients – their concerns, their dental history and what they’d like to change about their smile. He has a special interest in caring for anxious or nervous patients, using a calm, reassuring approach to help them overcome their fears, improve their oral health, and feel more confident about their smiles. For Hamid, enhancing someone’s smile isn’t just about teeth - it’s about boosting their overall wellbeing and self-esteem.
When treating toothache or dental problems, Hamid carefully considers every option to preserve your natural tooth structure wherever possible. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is committed to continually updating his skills and knowledge with the latest techniques, materials and technologies so his patients receive modern, evidence-based care.
Before focusing on dentistry full-time, Hamid built a rich and varied career as a swim and water polo coach, scuba diving instructor and cabin crew member. As he often says, “I have worked everywhere on this planet, from the deep blue sea up to the big blue sky.” He also competed as a water polo player, representing the City of Sheffield Water Polo Squad – an experience that shaped his teamwork, discipline and commitment.
Outside the clinic, you’ll often find Hamid in or near the water, whether he’s swimming, diving or simply enjoying the ocean, or out cycling around the coast with his partner, Haley.
